October 2026 Update

This release makes it easier to record who reported a defect and introduces a more accessible way to assign tasks. The update took place on the evening of 27th October. For the full list of changes, see v3.8 in the Changelog.

Add reporters when creating defects 📞

To store data in CausewayOne Asset Management, you create items. Each app provides a contextual button to create new items of whatever you're working with, e.g. assets, tasks.

When creating a defect, the Create Item window now includes an optional Reporters step, letting you register one or more contacts against the new defect.

Select existing items of the Contacts design or add new ones directly. When submitting a new contact's details, you confirm you have their consent to do so. This is logged automatically for audit purposes, e.g. Consent recorded by Annette Curtain on 27/10/2026 at 14:32:10.

This makes it easy to capture contact details as soon as a defect is reported.

Accessible task assignment ⌨️

The Task Assignment planner shows which tasks are assigned to which teams over a period. Until now, assigning a task or moving through the timeline required you to drag things into place.

You can now use buttons to:

  • Assign a task – select the ➕ button beside an unassigned task in the left list. In the window that appears, set the Team, Start date and Start time, then select Assign.

  • Scroll the timeline – use the arrow buttons above the timeline to move it backwards and forwards, about halfway each time.

Dragging still works as before, so you can use whichever method suits you best. The new buttons are keyboard-navigable, making Task Assignment easier to use for anyone who finds dragging difficult.

Additionally, if you select Jump to date in the bottom-right menu, a confirmation dialog now informs you that unsaved changes will be discarded.
