September 2026 Update

This release gives designers finer control over item forms and canvas views, improves the accessibility of the map, and gives admins better visibility into user accounts that need attention.

The update took place on the evening of 1st October. For the full list of changes, see v3.7 in the Changelog.

Smarter item form controls 🖼️

In the Designer app, the Item Form Builder lets you customise the visibility and order of attributes shown for items of a design/interface. Label controls can also display read-only values, provided by you or loaded from an attribute.

New labels

This release adds three new label controls:

  • Image URL label - display an image loaded from a web address
  • Image SVG label - display a graphic rendered from SVG code
  • Item image - display the thumbnail of an uploaded image file

Attributes filtered by tag

Since most label controls only make sense for a particular attribute type, selecting Attribute now only offers the ones relevant to the control. This works by filtering attributes according to their Tags property, e.g. the Colour label control only offers attributes with the Colour tag.

To facilitate this, we've added more tag choices for Text attributes: Collection, DodiCode, MeshCode and ReportDodiCode.

In addition, the File label control now only offers Link attributes pointing to files, and the Image URL label updates its preview immediately when you edit its value.

Pan the map with on-screen tools ↔️↕️

Throughout CausewayOne Asset Management, each map area includes on-screen tools for interaction. The bottom-left Zoom tools already provide an alternative to scrolling with a mouse or touchpad.

This release adds a new Pan controls tool alongside them. Select it to reveal four direction buttons, which let you move around the map without dragging.

This builds on the keyboard navigation we introduced earlier this year. The zoom and pan buttons follow the same pattern, so you can move around the map entirely by keyboard or with assistive technology:

  • Press Tab to scan through the map tools.
  • Press Shift + Tab to scan backwards.
  • Press Space or Enter to activate the focused tool

Hide "Create Item" on AQS sections ➕👀

In the Designer app, the Item Canvas Builder lets you customise the visibility and order of data sections when viewing an item's details. A canvas view can include AQS sections that list items related to the current one, e.g. defects related to an asset.

Until now, AQS sections always had a Create item button for adding new items directly to their list. This is often useful but can be unsuitable in some situations.

Therefore, designers can now turn this off as needed. In the builder, select an AQS section and enable Hide create item button on the right.

Spot users with a missing Users item 👤

In the Permissions app, the User Management table lets admins manage user access within your company project.

Behind the scenes, each user account depends on a corresponding item of the Users design (so they can join teams). If that item is missing from the Live collection, the user it belongs to can't be resolved.

User Management now flags this for you, rather than failing silently. If a user's item is archived or missing, their icon displays a red cutout to indicate the problem. Hover over it to see whether the tooltip says Archive or Unknown.
